Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is a rare, inherited, metabolic, systemic disease caused by deficient activity of the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme. HPP affects people of all ages with a broad spectrum of skeletal and nonskeletal clinical manifestations, high disease burden, and substantial negative impact on quality of life.
